Aguinid Falls in Samboan, Cebu features breathtaking views of cascading waters as well as earth rock formations. It’s not your usual waterfall destination as it also offers river trekking and rock climbing for those who thirst for adventure.
How to Go to Aguinid Falls
In Cebu South Bus Terminal, ride a Via Barili bus. Then, just inform the conductor to drop you at Aguinid in Samboan. From the left side of the road, you’ll see a signage going to the falls.
Aguinid falls has five levels and you’ll only reach the highest level through river trekking and rock climbing. Beware! You’ll get wet on your way to the top so be sure to bring extra clothes and waterproof bags for your gadgets. At the start of trek, you’ll be welcomed by these lovely views:
There’s also a cute mini-waterfall labeled as the Level 0.
The Level 1 houses pools that your kids will surely love. The water in this area is shallow so it’s safe for everyone. There are tables in this area and food is usually left here since littering is strictly not allowed. However, be sure to bring an insect repellent since there are lots of mosquitoes in the area.
This is where the adventure begins! Rock climbing is needed before you can proceed to the next level. There’s no need to worry about slipping since the rocks here are limestones which can’t be easily penetrated by algae.

The third level houses some of the loveliest views in Aguinid falls. It showcases water cascades and a mini-waterfall.
The 4th level houses divided waterfalls, water cascades and deeper lagoons.
After all the climbing and trekking here’s the mightiest of them all, the level 5! After the exhausting rock climbing, the 5th level can give you a back massage. It’s also a secluded place surrounded by walls of earth rock formations.
